discussion R/C Model Warship Combat!

I just wondered if any of the members dabble in Model Warship Combat? Small Vessels with all the R/C gear stored in watertight compartments, hulls skinned in very thin balsa and armed with CO2 Powered cannon firing BB pellets!

It looks like a lot of fun! Not particularly well detailed and not for super detailing as the models are designed to sink!

I've never had a go but it looks like good fun, although I'm not sure I could watch my own pride and joy being knocked to bits!!

It is a lot of fun! Seriously, there's nothing like it for stress relief.

But be warned! these ships are not "toys" they are functional, armed warships, capable of causing severe combat addiction.

In the past i've spoken to four or five brits who are interested in the hobby, but don't want the hassle of dealing with british gun laws. Seems your authorities frown on armed models. (Even though the cannon on these ships fire at a low velocity which won't break the skin, point blank).

Hope someone over there can get the required permissions to conduct this hobby so you can all learn to love the sound of splintering balsa.
