Hi

I want to know how to put two motors into one reciver slot. I have an Acoms 2 channel reciver. Is it possible and what do i need to do this?

Hi RAF, I'm assuming that you mean you want to control two motors from a single channel yes?

In which case you will have a speed controller, big enough to cope with the current of the two motors, plugged into the throttle channel on the reciever. The speed controller output will be split and connected to the two motors in parallel. Both motors will then respond to the single control stick on the transmitter.

Before the positive output from the speed controller is split I would also put an appropriate sized fuse.

Hi , Use a terminal block, put your 2 reds together from your motor in to the block, and the same with the other colour, then out from the opposite side run a red and other colour , they should be coupled up to a speed control and that pluged in to the reciever.

2 leads from the speed control should go to the battery with a fews in line.

what type of speed controler do i need and how much will it roughly cost. Also, Where can I get one from.

If your going to fast and need to stop quickly , you can put your motors in reverse to slow it down.

I would say yes.

Hi RAF,

I will definitely agree with Ron's post above - reverse is always handy to have for things like slow manouevering but more importantly, as that emergency brake, which will potentially stop you from colliding with other boats or the sides of the pond (depending on where you sail) thereby preventing any damage to your boat or any others.

At the price quoted - you might as well go for it

Thanks for all your help. I have just bought the Mtronics speed controller from Westbourne Models, Thanks Ron for the recomendation. Im going to the Isle of Man tomorrow until wednesday so it will arrive when I get back. the only thing I need is a battery from maplin and it should be ready to run. Thanks again.
