hi all

my partner has just bought me the tamiya Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc kit as a present. i would like some help in what tools, paints etc i will need. i used to have everything years ago and then kids came along so lost touch and interest with this great hobby. due to recovering from an illness i have time on my hands and want to get stuck into this kit. i would appreciate any advice on paints, tools, brushes etc.

thanks to all

Hiya kopkid. Welcome to the forum. Have a look at this link. It has some advice of the stuff you might need

That's a hell of a kit to start you off again. Both I and another member,Mattski, have both built one recently. I did a bit of a log here.

And here's Matt's finished one

It's a big model but a dream to build. You are going to need all the standard tools, which I think are listed in that thread, apart from filler! The paint colours are covered in the instructions. If you are brush painting I would suggest using enamel paints. Humbrol are still around and readily available. As for brushes get the best you can find. You don't need lots but you will need (minimum) something for the larger camouflage areas and something for fine detail work and a couple in between.

Feel free to ask specific questions as you go along, that's what the forum is for.

Oh,and good luck.

Cheers
