discussion removing humbrol clear gloss

Wanting to repaint one of my models but it has been coated humbrol clear gloss. How do I go about removing this?

If it's the stuff in the small glass bottle & not the enamel one, then it should be the same as removing any acrylic-based product.


Multi-purpose cleaner, oven cleaner, brake fluid all work. But if you want to remove just the clear coat without touching the paint underneath... that ain't gonna happen! It'll all come off

All of it coming off wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the reply. Will dig through the cleaning cupboard to see what we got.
