Well it's finally finished after a fashion, very nearly ended up in the bin several times.
This is generally a very mediocre kit (originally tooled in 1963?) which has driven me to heights of frustration I didn't know existed. Tons of flash and mould lines on the majority of sprues but worst of all the tubular, round and cylindrical components were all off centre by a fair margin and theres lots of those components in a car build. The chrome was poor with clearly visible ejctor pin marks, the windscreen frame warped and split, the starter motor 3 times overscale and very shallow or non existent mounting holes and pins. Also, because dry fitting of the suspension is impossible, it was only on final assembly that the incorrect ride height became apparent. Got so disheartened that I didnt bother flatting and polishing the paintwork. Good point were a beautifully moulded body, excellent decals and very good instructions.
I really love the polychromatic green/purple/purple paint and ghost stripe and am pleased with my carpet, dashboard and seat belts.
Not my best work but acceptable from 3 feet away.
Now for photo overload, all comments welcome.
Thanks
Stefan
