Hi everyone,

Earlier today I finished my Revell Me. 262 which I got about 5 weeks ago. Considering the size of the plane it's a well detailed kit, much to my surprise upon opening it. :) I did have some trouble weighing the nose down though as I had already glued all the pieces together apart from the canopy  but I came to the conclusion that some cut up pieces of a brass bar would do the trick :) (that thread is here: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/threads/weighing-down-front-of-model.32664/ ) However, I had no problems with decals or pieces fitting together, so it was a really good and enjoyable kit to make :D

Thanks for looking in :)

Blair

Here are some photos :D ;)

Nice one. :)
Always a bugger to stop tail sitting.
Thanks :) it did take me a while to figure out what I could do to stop it  but I'll know to put the weight into the nose before gluing it before I get in a similar situation again :D :)

Nice one Blair I do like the 262 and you've done a good job on this

Yesterday I noticed a problem with the plane in one of the pictures... A loose decal! I can't believe I didn't notice  :D

Anyway, it's fixed now :D :) Here's where it was if you were wondering

Nice one, Blair. I love the 262 as well - beautiful and mean-looking at the same time. Mottling is difficult to do but you've done a great job on the fuselage and engines.

Very nicely done and I do like the mottling effect ( hard to get right ) but hey presto!!

Thank you :) I did a similar thing on a Focke Wulf once, I might put up a picture of it sometime, probably on the Member Gallery thread because I thoroughly enjoyed it :) :D

Well done Blair on a classic jet, can't wait to get my 262 finished. Should be on here soon so keep you eyes peeled.

That's fantastic Phil :) What scale & brand is it? :) :D

It's a 1/48 Dragon me262 a1/u4 , and it was a bit of a pig as are a lot of dragon kits by all accounts. I used quite a bit of aftermarket and did some scratch work but ruined my canopy which put the build on hold. Should have my martlet mk VI finished within the next couple of days and I reckon I have another couple of hours on the me262 before I'm done.

I think you can find my 262 build if you search under Phil's Dragon me262 if you're interested.

Cheers

As much as I love Dragon armour kits, if it's a 1/48 Me 262 that you're after Blair, look at the Hobbyboss range. They're very detailed, great fit & the cockpit tub is metal to stop it tail sitting :)

I like the mottling Blair. Sounds like you enjoyed the build, and that's the most important thing.
