I made this tank killer over two years ago, when I first got back into modeling. It was hand painted with Humbrol enamels and I liked the outcome. It has been sitting in a cabinet in my dining room with my other early models.

Some of you may know that I am currently in the middle of building a F14 Tomcat so whilst waiting for parts to set or dry I have been watching some weathering and detailing videos on Youtube. So I grabbed this out of the cabinet and decided to give it a go.

Washed with Model Mates Soot Black cleaned up with wet cotton buds. Mixed some white PVA glue and water (about a 50/50 mix) painted this onto the wheels, tracks and side edges. Ground up some brown and earth coloured hard pastels dipped a brush in the the powder and dabbed onto the still wet glue to give a mud-like effect.

Added some chipping on parts using a small piece of sponge and steel acrylic paint.

Here are the results, I think they look quite good for a first attempt.

Steve
