hi

as im a total novice at this ive been reading all the posts about turning this model into a surface runner.

ive got all the rc gear apart from the motors as the shop had none in today ive also got the wtc tube 50x300mm to fit the rc parts into

any help or advice would be appriciated

whats the best glue to use to glue the hull together guys ?

A question for you before you glue the Hull together.

Have you thought how your going to gain access to the WTC once it is sealed in, or are you going to cut the hull after you have glued it.

Others have cut around the saddle tank on one side to allow access.

Just a thought.

the plan is to cut around the sadle tank as it only held together with little clamps atm im just trying to get as much info as poss before i glue it together etc by reading what other people have done

i have a bottle of plastiweld to glue it together but dont know if this is good as it will get wet ? so i really need to know whats the best glue to use ?

Nice props.

Don't know about plastiweld. I only use revell in the blue dispensers and bottles with a little brush.

So long as the plastic is softened and the joints bond together you should be alright.

My own way of gluing long runs like yours and my Gato, is to assemble with the blue dispenser, then brush the joint over with the bottled glue.

So far has worked ok on my Italeri Schnellboot and my Gato.

Just my personal way of doing it, others may have their own method.

the props are m2 from westbourne models and the shafts are from germany m2 x 3mm outers so they fit quite well into the rear support after i drilled it out a little bit

ill get some of that glue then

hi greg had a look on that site but very expensive for things you can make tho as i have access to a full machine shop

well had a bit time tonight so i fitted the props and shafts

just a little bit more adjusting ans ill epoxy them in place

now looking at the propellers i think i have the wrong ones anyone got a link to some good props please

spent a little bit time on the sub

epoxy glued the prop shaft tubes and rudder tubes in today and drilled and fitted the m2 rods from a couple of old prop shafts and secured with epoxy glue just some sanding and filing to do now and make the rudder linkage up
