Next up on the bench is this old beauty which I won in a tombola at one of the shows I went to a while ago. It is the old Italeri Bofors 40mm AA.

On opening the box there are only three dark green sprues which by todays standards are very simplified. I also noted that it had been started, but luckily only the front axle.

As can be seen from the front axle the detail is very simple

So armed with some reference pictures I gave it a tweak.

This is the fun of modelling for me taking an old kit and hopefully improving it. I was unable to find anyone who is selling the PE set for this as it has been discontinued by Eduard. So all the kit bashing will be done with styrene and whatever PE I have in my parts box.

Hope you can join me along the way.

Cheers
Scottie

Nice one Scottie! Looking forward to watching this - in for a Pfennig, in for a Mark as my mate Klaus would say!

Ooh yes more magic!
I know you don't love figures but I wouldn't even think of using the ones from this set-Figures are not Italeri's strength... If you do go for them I would recommend this set by Bronco

Was that a hammer, WD40 and nasty profane language? I might have to try that in the future! I love technology!!
