OK, on to the next of 3 German planes in 1:72 scale to add to my collection. This one is going to be fun to paint still wondering how to go about it though. No where near as many parts as the last one a fairly simple kit to put together but the paint job will be fun to do. Do you like my new clip holders got them from a cheapo shop for a quid the small ones are brilliant must get some more.

Top tip for holding curved surfaces with mimi-clamps like those.

Fold a piece of sandpaper and sandwich a piece (on both sides) between the clamp and the model.

That looks a fiddly 1/72 job to do, looks like you're off to a good start and i hope it goes smoothly for you :)

As an extra to the mini clamps, and to add to what Steve says regarding the sand paper, i have glued wet and dry (400) to the clamp heads on 4 of the 8 i got, they offer tremendous grip with no slipping on even the trickiest of surfaces and suprisingly don't leave any marks if you're careful when initially positioning them.

Ok I have finished putting on the blue tack after the paints of coat have dried and now going to spray the top coat over the acne plane. Sticking the blue tack on took about 80 minutes I guess but it should do a nice job. The kit is a bit rough in parts had to use a bit of filler round the engines on the wings as they did not go together very tight. Any way off to the shed to spray this baby up.

Well done mate, that paint work looks great. Relatively easy to do but with great results.

Well I am all finished with this one did not take long to make at all surprisingly and it looks great next to my other German plane. Got two more left from my birthday stash to make and I am really enjoying learning about the German planes of world war 11.

So here is my finished Heinkel He 219 UHU I clipped off the excess wire from the antenna later on and theres a few little bits I want to tidy up but overall despite the poor quality of the kit it came out nicely in the end. After doing that blue tak paint job I am feeling better about tackling Revells new 1:32 version which is going on my want list

Please feel free to pick it apart and give me any tips to improve my model making there are many things I have to learn so I really don't mind any comments pointing out the errors of my ways

What a fantastic finish to the Uhu Mark, you should be very happy indeed. Good to see the bluetak method in action too, cheers.

Mark that is a sharp looking Uhu,love the mottle its perfect! You're paint work is top notch. I would only suggest thinning the wires on the aerials a tad and some darker wash over the flame suppressors.Overall excellent looking 219 and in 1/72 scale to boot! The red white on the diopoles came out really sharp as well, very nicely done Sir!!!

Thank you every one, and yes Trey those wires really need to be thinner but I was struggling to get a decent thin set from the sprues as I heated and stretched them more practice needed and I have yet to try doing a wash. I am kind of using these smaller models as a practice of methods at the moment and enjoying honing my skills on them. Being fairly cheap on the 1:72 scale there good to build up my methods on so when I get on to the more pricey bigger scales I should have improved enough not to mess them up.
