discussion Smer 1/48 MIG-17 PF

Hiya.

This is the new kit i am starting. It's a very old smer kit of the MIG-17, the photo-etch set that came with it is dated 1991. Comes with 5 different marking options and i will be going with the Egyptian version. Havent had much exposure to photo-etch so far so it should be interesting.

Looking forward to see the build.I have been looking for a nice 48 size Mig 17 myself to do in the collours of the Mozambuque Pilot Lt. Adreano Bomba that defected to the RSA in the 80's.

Interesting story behind this defection, The Mig 17's # was 21.He got it wrong and defected with that plane instead of a Mig-21 that the SA gov wanted!

I built a 72 size Smer F-4 corsair a while back and the quality was horrible!!! :-( Hope yours is better.
