Any ideas of where to buy and what to buy. Obviouy it needs to be big enough to work on 1/35 scale and also I would like to vent it to outside. Seem to remember Laurie joining two side by side but cant find it in the threads now.

Cheers guys

This is the one I use, you can if you wish also join two together for larger projects :)

I`ve got the Expo one John stocks with the hose , its fine size wise for 1/35 scale and superb if spraying acrylics or water based paints but struggles with solvent or enamel spraying in my opinion , its big bucks if you want a spray booth that can cope with spraying solvents , if you only spray acrylics its great you can even hoover the filter every now and then and it works like new again .

Yes Alan the one John stocks is the one I have by 2. I keep all the cleaner, paints etc in the joied booths. keeps all the mess in one place.

Also you have two fans. Coupled up the two hose with a B & Q connector.

Makes a nice set up if you have the space.

I have the one John sells (to my shame I bought it from elsewhere before I discovered this forum). I worked out that it was not big enough to house a 1/72 Lancaster bomber fully assembled (it is a big beast even at that scale) but no-one would need to paint the entire model in one go. With two side-by-side you would get a spacious booth.

I vent mine through the window, which works well (it comes with a fishtail end which can be wedged through a slightly open window. Although I use acrylics I have never had significant smells indoors. It has sufficient draft to suck fumes to the back and out to the hose.

I have the led one, I would opt for johns 2 booth though. Better than eBay customer support and really, I can see me needing to re-buy or modify mine in the future for bigger kits. It's perfect for 1/24 cars though...
