A few photos from my Original Series USS Enterprise. Scratch build and still in progress. It's going to be lit using LED and is using the same stand style as in my previous X-Wing. I'm looking to motorise the Warp engines, but mistakenly purchased motors with a really high RPM, so sourcing some slower ones now. Getting there!

That is impressive, I thought it was a bought kit until looking through the stills .

WOW!! O.o

Honestly, rather you than me......I'd gone for the kit. ^_^

Impressive none the less!

I'll be honest, I was going to go for the kit, but it was showing at £300 at the time. It's dropped to around £94 now in various places, but I think I'm more into the scratch build side of things now, as it's much more rewarding, plus I take my time with it. Once I managed to get the saucer done, the rest was more straightforward. The advantage is that it's a 60's model so the lines are minimal, therefore easier to construct.

Unbelievable work there Davinder mate. Nicely done lighting system.

Cheers. I got the LEDs from Bloater079 from eBay, who was exceptionally helpful. They've been daisy chained around the model and I just used standard wires sourced from old power cords. I'm going to separate the rotating engine bits to a separate wire, then added back to the main wire, but switched, just in case they stop working, but the lights will not be affected.

An update. Motors were soldered, but separate from the lighting. However, I had to re-solder as one wire came apart and I nearly ripped the model apart to find it! Better now than later, plus the idea of a separate switch circuit for the motors was a good idea, as I think they'll eventually die.

Warp nacelles were loose, but fixed in with foam filler and grab adhesive. Quite secure now and I'll pin them in. This is now almost ready for complete priming.

Wow, very impressive indeed. :)

I would imagine it's construction is not all that dis-similar to that of the original model.

I look forward to the next "episode".;)

Thanks. It's not pin point accurate in comparison the plastic model, but reasonably close. I now need to prime it and smooth the areas, fill in the gaps before the final paint finish, plus detail..

real like the colors,in the engines, very well done, with them, whole thing looking good,;)

The model's had a light dusting of a satin spray to brighten it up and the deflector dish has now been added. Managed to take a nice low light photo in a darkened room.

Just about complete!

Need to add the four "fins" on the back of the warp nacelles. Need to add a few more red lines here and there. The underside needs some decals or prints. The side hull needs a little bit of detail just in front of the side decal. I also need to add some transparent colour paper over some of the lights at the top to make it more accurate.

It's by no means accurate in comparison to the official model. A bit bumpy here and there, plus the nacelles aren't 100% symmetrical (but only I'd know that). I suppose I want to be a perfectionist, but I am delighted so far. The rotating engines look amazing and the lighting holds up well. I'm looking to add a better power connector before I can sign this one off.

Cheers. Comments are much appreciated as always. Next is a simpler effort. I want to re-create a Galileo Seven diorama, with a more simpler shuttlecraft on a landscape. Still want to light it with pulsating lights representing a glowing (damaged) reactor.

I think Scotty would love to get his hands on her, she's a beauty.

Have fun, John
