Hi all,
Will be starting this soon. I know this vehicle intimately as it was the first car I bought for myself when I returned to the UK in 2000, wish I still had it. One of the attached photos has images of my car.
Bought AM resin AM "cookie cutter" alloys to match my car and tyre valves. The terribly chromed "telephone dial" rims may go on a modded VW Beetle at some stage. Will be cutting out the bonnet to show off the engine.
Hope it goes together better than Italieri's Range Rover that I built earlier.

Whilst eradicating mould lines, flash etc on the body I noticed there was provision in the clear parts for a sunroof which my car had. This took the form of being completely removable and stoed in a bag in the boot - will try to replicate that later.
So 60 nerve racking minutes later I have this.

Undercarriage nearly completed and the basic engine dry fitted, lots of detail painting to be done.
Tried printing my own decals for the seat inserts, not perfect but acceptable and subtle.

Engine bay done, no extras here just the kit parts plus some generic decals.
The milk chocolate and caramel ripple interior eventually masked and painted. Still lots of fettling to do and satin clearcoat. Will be flocking the carpeted areas and adding seat belts but they are both Fathers Day presents and I am not allowed them under any circumstances - brought the kids up too well by the look of things.

Loving this , dedication and memories! Couldn't make a model of my first car though as it was a Black Maria ...

Some more done to my baby.
3D printed "cookie cutter" alloys painted, decalled and fitted along with tiny valves and the brake discs and calipers.
Virtually finished the interior by detail painting, satin clear coating and adding seat belt buckles to the front seats (no belts fitted in the rear as too early for the legislation but the kids loved sliding around during vigorous driving) however still awaiting the flocking to simulate the carpets.
Made the sun roof bag and rear wiper motor housing as well as adding the light lenses and and other exterior trim. Just had to dry fit the body and floor pan for a quick looksee.
Now on the back burner awaiting aforementioned flocking.
Thanks for popping in.

Wow, stunning finish on this Porsche 944S! The paint and detailing really bring out the character of the car.

What was your favorite part of the build? And if you were to do it again, is there anything you'd do differently?

Also, have you thought about doing any weathering or display options, or is this going straight into the collection as a pristine piece?

Thanks for wonderful comments.
My modelling aim is to build carss I have owned, driven or rebuilt for clients when I had a repair shop so all my builds are as they left the shop - as pristine as possible so weathering is extremely minimal.
Favourite part is the spraying and paint detailing especially the lights!
Will just go into my display cabinet along with the others.
