I have just bought some Loctite super glue and have heard it's better to use an activator with it. Could someone recommend such an item to use with said product?

For filling gaps baking soda works as an accelerator for CA glue. If you just want to stick a little part quickly have a look online for superglue kicker. I've got a little bottle I bought somewhere online in the UK along with some zap a gap. I can't get to it at the moment to tell you the brand name. I only ever use it for attaching fishing line for aerial wires!
