Hello guys,

At the moment I'm working on a Russian T-34/85 from Zvezda.

The kit looks very simple, because there aren't many pieces to work with. :)

So things go very fast, but there's also a lot of cleaning-up to do...
I had some trouble fitting the upper-hull onto the lower-hull, I'll have to fix it that with some dirt and mud.

Here the model was ready for painting,

I'm using 3 figures to put in the tank, 2 in the turret and 1 on the back...

I tried to spray some pre-shading to add a little depth...
I drilled some bullet-holes in the fenders, and a little damage from incoming shells (not very visible yet)

At the moment I just finished the base color, next I will start painting parts like the rubber-road-wheels etc tomorrow...

Thanks for reading and happy modeling ;)
Kind regards
Steven

I like the shading effect so far and I can see the possibilities for my KV-1 Thanks for posting.
Cheers, Rick H.

Steven,
looking good! - What are the tracks like? The recent Zvezda models I've made have had link & length ( T-35, MSTA-S ), and work very nicely............
Dave

Nice start Steven.
I quite like Zvezda, certainly come on in recent years. My first build was a T34 by them and enjoyed it .
Nice paint work .

Thanks guys!

Today I mounted the tracks and painted some more. Started on the figures too
I also added an oil pin-wash...

I handpainted the text, using the decal as a guide.
I have no idea what it means though :D...

Next I will try to add a bit more color variations...

Thanks for reading!

Kind regards,
Steven

This is turning out to be a really nice model. I like the fact that you hand painted the slogans and tactical numbers. Looking forward to the next update, keep up the good work Steven.
Cheers, Rick H.

Luv it Steven! Big fan of your work. Will pull up a chair and see how the rest turns out. Great stuff :thumb2:

Thanks for the comments Rick, John, Ross and Steve ! :)

I haven't worked much on this project but I got a small update...

First I got another picture of the tank, this time with the crew in place:
Steven_T34_009.jpg

The 3rd soldier will sit on the back, holding a large soviet-flag.
So I made a flag with a piece of a paper nose-rag and a thin scrap steel-rod...
Steven_T34_010.jpg

To make the flag hanging somewhat realistic I soaked it in a mix of water and wood-glue.
It was a bit hard to manipulate so I had to let it touch the yellow plastic border until it was dry...
Steven_T34_011.jpg

Here the flag has dried, an extra coat of wood glue was put on...
Steven_T34_012.jpg

Then I gave it a red coat with the airbrush, the right side will get some more dirt on it...
I painted the yellow soviet logo by hand, it's a bit stupid of me to make a heavy wave in the same place as the logo, I didn't thought about that :D...

I will the cut the stick later, but here you can see what I'm trying to do with it.

Thanks for reading and kind regards :)
