At long last, it is finished. This is the Tamiya 1/25 scale Tiger I, first introduced in 1969. This particular kit was purchased in the late '80s as a gift from my brother, and I thought it was high time to build it.

I have to say that although it is an old kit, and one can tell in many ways, it was quite a fun experience building it. It has many inaccuracies, true, but in the end it looks like a Tiger. The kit has enough of an interior to make it interesting with the hatches open. The only item not out of the box are the tow cables. The ends are cut from the kit supplied cables, but I used cotton string to make the cables.

So, without further adieu, here is the finished product.

This is excellent. The view through the hatches, especially of the gun breech, is so realistic looking. Great paintwork, the whole thing just looks spot on.

Only ever built one Tiger I and that was in 1/48. Only 1/35 I have is the much maligned, Academy with interior which I actually quite like as the inaccuracies don't bother me that much. Your superb 1/25 is giving me the urge to build it now.....

looks great to me ,do real like it,

nice with the chipping and weathering as well, ;)

Thanks for the compliments.

I really enjoyed building this one. The sheer size alone is really something. And up to this kit painting and weathering was something I endured rather than enjoyed. This kit changed that. I actually enjoyed that part for a change. Usually painting and weathering takes me forever to do due to procrastination. I fell I have reached a turning point in this aspect of the hobby.

Brett, the 3 decade wait was well worth it, that's a wonderfully finished Tiger. Awesome work.

Quality build Brett! Loving the chipping, and views through the hatches, the close-ups show your close attention to detail really well. Fantastic!

That looks great, Brett. Like the others I love the chipping and weathering, and this 'distressed' mudguards make all the difference in terms of realism.

An excellent Tiger Brett! Lovely paintwork & weathering.

The bigger scale is good to work with. I built the Academy re-box of a Tamiya 1/25 Jagdpanther & that was an enjoyable one to do.

Cheers

Patrick
