can anyone tell me how I can get a really good shine on the bodywork a car?

First you need a good surface......... Thin coat of primer then fill any blemishes and flat down the whole thing with 1500 .......... Then thin coats (I take it you are using an aerosol????) and flat down between coats with 3000 ......... With the last couple of coats polished down with a liquid cutting compound. The knack is keeping the nozzle the same distance from the surface. If you take your time and build up the paint evenly............... The bike in my gallery I did ended up with 10 coats on the tank and tail to get a deep colour and shine.

For a realistic finish or a trick paint finish try out some of the products from www.SpecialistPaints.com

Although not cheap their products & back-up are excellent.

The paints are available in tinlets/tins or aerosols, including 2k laquers for finishing as per full size vehicles!

Having used these products in my profession I can genuinly recommend them.

That looks really good. The finish looks superb. I will soon be starting a Revell Royal Royce Phantom 2 and aim to get a perfect mirror finish.
