discussion Titanic, looking through the round window

I'm making the 1:570 Revell Titanic model, and have drilled out all of the tiny portholes to add some light. I reckon some acetate glued to the inside coloured with a yellow wash, will give the impression of the ship being alive and busy.

So how to do the lights? will need torch sized bulb holders and AA in line battery holders X2 to light it all up, then I plan to put a switch in the plinth. Any ideas folks? I can't go back now as I've drilled all the holes.

And I don't want it to sink!

Sounds like you got the idea right, Check out maplins for other lighting options though, there are strips of LED lights you can get now that are really bright, I think places like Halfords do them to, Would give more light and an even flow through the inside of the hull. Then i would pop a little push on/off switch inside one of the funnels out of sight.

if you go to your local pound shops then at least one of them will have parasol / garden umbrella led lights in stock. they'll be cheap and have power modules attached. they come in a few different colours too.

or you could try component shop on the web www.component shop.co.uk,they have all different types of lighting for models

Can I suggest you consider model railway lighting? Here is a quote from a lighting system on ebay which may be of use to you.
