Guys I am used to painting modern aircrews but have a couple of builds I would like to do of WWII aircraft.

I have looked at the instructions for both and it says the whole uniform is tan. However would I be right in thinking the naval aviators trousers and shirts were more of a light biege colour. I say this as I am sure the tan they are saying is to dark

It's a drill khaki colour Terry. It is probably more of a mid-stone colour rather than tan. I have seen USN tropical flying helmets and clothing in museums as RNZAF pilots wore a lot of US issue equipment in the Pacific during the Second World War. It is definitely not dark in colour.

Some examples I have found http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/61639-usnavy-pilot/

Thanks for that Joe much appreciated. I knew the instructions were wrong.

Yeah joes right the USAF of the time wore the brown khaki colour and the flak jackets were like a beige colour :)
