Hi guys I'm new here, and new to pro building. I've  decide to build the enterprise e, but I am in need of guidance. can anyone help???

I want to coat the clear plastic so that when the model is not lit the models interior is not visible. I have seen many examples of this and many mentions of "clear grey" or "clear red". I have looked around and can not find any guidance on technique or a product to use. is this clear paint just normal paint thinned?
