Mmm Valentines... Oh yes please. I did not know there was a kit of a Mk.I. Most are the Mk.II up. Not that there's a LOT of difference
According to the Ospeey specific to the Valentine, we'd already declared it obsolete by the time we started sending them out to the Sovs, and then boosted production to post them to Murmansk. Apparently, the Sovs preferred the Matildas we sent out to the Valentines, but they weren't keen on those either
A lot of Sov-sent ones wee Canadian builds, some 'winterized'

There are some films on Youtube of Soviet operated Valentines, including a Pathe piece that said we were going to send Covenanters. Good job THAT never happened!

Well here we go, of course I've had the now normal gluing the wrong part on the wrong side, small pieces of PE that after one flew off into the unknown I ditched the other. Plastic is soft and easy to work with. Many parts I feel could have been moulded onto the larger sections, but that's typical of AFV Club, getting the parts count up.

Notice the tracks, not for some but for me a dream, the only separate link type I enjoy doing are Friuls, but the price is a bit much.

Decided to try out some black MR Hobby glue, either its me or the plastic didn't agree with it, back to Tamiya thin.




Now those small parts, placed on and knocked off with in to mins

This is where they were, note the oblong ringed , this was where I was supposed to apply the PE !



Might put those light back on later !



This is where I mixed up two side parts, managed to remove the two parts and reglued.Ablove you can also see the metal grab handles I managed to make. I tried to put the wire in my drill with one end in the vice, that failed with being too thin for the drill chuck, next tried the two pliers , pulling the wire, again no luck, so I f any one has an idea or method they use I'd be grateful.

I would imagine you were quite pleased to see the band style track. A lot easier than all that fiddling about!

Looks to be some very small, breakable parts to test your nerves…..steady as she goes I reckon :smiling4:

Remember to cut off all the ejector pins...
Been down the charity shop again I see, did you buy those old mans slippers or did they give them to you if you left and stopped annoying all the other old wrinklies :smiling5:

Ejector pins , couldn't see if they were part of the moulding or E Pin

Well this build went from bad to worse, I hasten to add no fault of the kit .
Plagued with hay fever my eyes have been bad. Dosed up with anti histamine tablets , eye drops and bats blood I've even pulled out of going to St Ives with Wibble for our annual competitions.

Finished the model, some of the pe to me was frightening, so small and quite honestly ridiculous to even consider putting it in the kit .I've used what I could

The tracks , so rubberly, they went on easily enough but attempting to use CA as the instructions was pointless at the join. Thank goodness this is going to be in water and thick mud as tge bottom of tgs tracks won't be seen .


The remains of the pe


Those wheels are just pushed on, no glue required. In instructions showed a plastic pin holding the spring in place, unfortunately the pin wasn't long enough so I had to drill out and use wire to finish tge assembly. I've read and re read the instructions and can't see where I went wrong Any way the suspension is on and works !


Seems to me the whole design was strange , numerous sections on the decking and engine covers , designed by a committee I would expect.I've not even attempted the upper machine gun thd support structure is built entirely from PE !
The next time this will appear it be painted
