Friends Romans Countrymen and Graham? I have a Jaguar Mk2 racing on its way ( thanks to ebay) so now I have my base to convert the mk2 into the mk1 Jaguar that Mike Hawthorn raced and tragically died in, basically it`s a totally different interior and windows, so the headaches are due. What I would like to ask is, does anyone have any info on companies producing 1/24 scale parts for detailing, as I think some parts eg; wire wheels etc are probably beyond me. Any help gratefully recieved.

Cheers Gareth.

Hi Gareth , I`m looking forward to this one mate , as for 1/24 scale bits you could try Hiroboy or Mediamix hobby

hope this helps

Thanks Richy, I have looked at Hiroboy but no luck so I will try Mediamix as I have never heard of them. I have looked at Alex Kustov`s website and he has used a couple of sites but unfortunately they are American so could be expensive, but will keep looking.

Cheers Gareth.

ps will post piccies as and when?

Hi Gareth , don`t worry about if they are abroad mate , I use a small company called Indycals in the US for my F1 aftermarket decals , also got F1 model stuff from eBay based in Hong kong , if they take paypal and you can pay by paypal its not a problem , only draw back it takes a week longer to get your stuff , I`ve never had a problem shopping abroad and if a UK company does not do what I need I`m more than happy to get my stuff from overseas

Also, especially with wheel, be prepared to look for something similar to what you want rather than looking for specifics, i.e. the name and make of the real car. I know purists will throw their hands up in horror but wire spoked wheels are very similar on older cars..

YEH I`m happy I think, the jag has arrived and I have looked in the box! Now the hard work begins. Thanks Richy I have just spent an imaginary hundreds of pounds at mixmedia, what a site! spotted the pe set for the Tamiya Honda RC166, and as I have one in the stash???? wallet is crying again. I agree Graham, a lot of early brit cars 50`s to 60`s had similar w/wheels, all I have found so far is the borrani type which is a nice wheel ( got a set on my Bob Jane`s Mk2 ) unfortunately they have a deepish outside rim, but I will have to look at the Hasegawa set for the Testa Rossa as if I remember rightly they had a smaller rim and of course narrow tyres. I will be doing a photo build over the next decade? so will put up piccies when bored? thanks buddies, Gareth.:woohoo:
