Hi all

Off to Vietnam on Fri. Will have my camera - if anyone would like specific Pics. Feel sure there must be a few wrecked "Hughies" still lying around.

Any requests by Thur. i'll do my best

Hi Peter,

Enjoy Viet Nam, you will find Museums with all sorts of aircraft and vehicles from the war period. They pop up in the most unlikely places, more in the south than the north though. Ho Chi Minh has 4 that I have been to whilst living there, plus the Reunification Palace deserves a look at. Magic people, magic country.

I was just looking at the picture you have thumb nailed there, what is that plane to the right in the edge of the picture, I don't recognise its wing/engine layout at all

Cheers.

Hi Harry

Thanks for the reply, I am pleased at your comment "Magic people, magic country" as it is a step into the unknown for us! have done a lot of the Far East but more the regular tourist destinations.

Hi Chris,

An F-5, with a little cessna jet next to it. You would not believe how many old war era aircraft and vehicles there are within a couple of kilometres of the centre of Ho Chi Minh.

Hi Peter,

Enjoy your trip, and take plenty of photos, be careful of the bad few, but enjoy the interaction with the vast majority.

Hi HarryYou were right - interesting country, nice people, hectic trip but we really enjoyed it

Had a bit of rain in Hue

Hi Peter,

happy you enjoyed the trip. And yes they do get a wee bit of rain now and again during the wet season. (Their other season is hot) South has two and north has 4 seasons.

Did you find any interesting machines you can share photos with us.

Magic Peter,

After you'd been through the Reunification Palace, did you wander through the trees (over left of the tank photo) to the jet parked all by its loansome? Viet Nam is such a good place for reference if your into that era plans, choppers, or military vehicles. Always rains in Hue, or it has every time I get there.

Real happy you had a good time.

Hi Harry

No I missed it - one of the disadvantages of having a guide, although with limited time and much to see, we would have been lost without them [no pun intended haha]
