Another bummer of a kit to build that fits where it touches, the tracks must be the worst tracks I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.


In the end I chucked the original turret and used a spare one from an AFV Club Valentine that I am converting. I also used quite a few spares from a Bronco Archer kit that don`t get used on the Archer, which helped no end.


Again I find the end result pleasing on the eye despite all the trauma of the build, I hope you do too.

Brilliant work even when you had such a build. Looks very authentic and like the camo too

Thank you, Robert, it was a PITA to build, but being a tight wad I didn`t really want to waste the kit, it had been on the shelf part built for years. Like a lot of other old kits, too.


The Tamiya Cromwell is a good starting point, Robert, it just falls together and must be the easiest kit I`ve ever built, a real pleasure to work with.

I always thought of doing the line of tanks from early British to end of WW2 but prob s big task and out my league but I'll look into getting s Cromwell soon ( wife permission needed ) oh the tracks on Cromwell is of a tight fit wit the fans type tamiya do or can you sag the tracks a bit??

All that is needed for the sag is some glue on top of the centre 3 wheels, hold the tracks to them for a short while and they will stick with no problems.

Won the Cromwell too so both on way. Thinking a last days of WW2 diorama featuring Cromwell loaded up with gear and going through a derelict German building. Have to do research on what tank div etc


Other " Centaur " might do with some marines just after Normandy pushing inland 1944 ( again research tank div and marine units


Just more builds to add to my ever growing stash
