OK I really cocked it up this time, I was trying to fix the image viewing problem and well, basically, I, erm totally wiped the server :busted_red:

So much so that I couldn't rescue the database so you will notice some posts missing as the database that is being used now is from before the move.

I have had to move the site back to the old server while I get it right I only have until the end of the month or I will loose this server but I won't move the site back to the new one until I know it's right or until I have no choice.

On a good note the attachments are now working and you can also upload them too, every cloud :sobbing:

Nightmare for you John I bet, thanks for what you have done, Im sure its not easy doing your day job,the forum and the online store.

By the way can you wipe my bank account server so I can start again...lol

Im just glad its back. Was so excited as my latest e-bay purchase arrived today, a 1/48 B-25B Michell "Doolittle" by Accurate Minitures. Its such a lovely looking kit with so much detail that I actually think Im scared to touch it :)

Look forward to seeing that Penelope, I have a bit of a soft spot for the B25, they look so elegant against the B17.

John. Glad we are up and running again. So is his on the old or the new, I am getting confused now lol. And, did you find out what the problem was or was it one of those "re start and it works" annoying things that appears to cure the problem but you never know what the problem was?

This is the bit where you think no-one reads a dam word you write, only to discover what you wrote has disappeared!!!

Well done John, hang on in there!

Yep,well done John. I hope you know how much your hard work is appreciated.

Steve

Well done John, i did get a little worried last night when i couldnt log on. I guessed there were problems. At least i can update the B25 build later.

Cheers

At the moment we are on the old, but GOOD NEWS!!!! I've fixed it Whoooo!!! I would class myself as computer literate but this has stumped me for almost a week, I have a complete copy of the forum running on the new server and it's working 100%, but I'm just going to keep testing it for a little while longer, once I'm happy there are no more problems I will take a copy of this database, close this forum and change the DNS which can take a couple of hours to update depending on your ISP, no more posts will be lost but until we are on the new site can I ask you not to upload to the gallery or add attachments, I will probably start the move at some point tomorrow, maybe morning.

Off to have a few beers now and de-stress myself

Nice one John , no need to get stressed out - none of us were going any where , enjoy them beers mate .

I've found being able to keep people up to date with problems on the site over the past few days via our facebook page a useful feature, if you want to keep updated feel free to join

I agree John, the Facebook page has proved its worth over the last few days. Thanks for all your work John, I hope you realise how much we all appreciate it. Now have ten minutes and a cuppa, put ya brown coat on and get back in the Shop, Granville cannot cope on his own, glad to see once again we are 'Open all hours'
