discussion Which Brand?

I'm feeling somewhat limited in my choice of brand when it come to 1/48 aircraft!

I'm looking to get a 1/48 curtiss P-40 but don't really want to pay Hasegawa prices and Tamiya don't seem to do one.

Have seen Hobbyboss, Revell, Italeri, Eduard & Academy models on the market at reasonable prices but have no clue as to the quality of these brands compared to my usual. (although I have had some experience with Eduard.....my inexperience was beaten by thier 1/48 sopwith camel despite it being a good kit)

Any advice would gratefully recieved.

It's not the same model but I have the HobbyBoss 1:48th F14 Tomcat in my stash, I've a good look in the box and I'm very happy with the contents very well detailed and no flash. So I would think the other HB kits will be the same.
