Wild Turkey, any one?

At least you get some interesting visitors! The only ones I get are spiders and a mouse which I'm sure one of my cats bought in.

Just to set your minds at rest, the cats didn't get him! He was hiding under my workbench so I left the door open and he got away while the cats were sleeping upstairs!

I bet you'll not see many around thanks giving Jim.
One would think that Ian, but we don't hunt them round these parts.
Wild turkeys are tough old nuts and really the only edible parts worth a spit are the breasts which are as red as venison
and very gamey.

They are some of the most intelligent and elusive creatures and those who do hunt them consider it a separate art.
If I where to take one in my own garden I'm sure it would be years before they might ever venture back this way.

We enjoy our wildlife close to the homestead and only make our hunts on fairly distant treks.
Bears and wolves are the only worries but they do tend to keep their distance.......sometimes:worried:

Wow Jim, thanks for posting the pics. The Turkey's look like it was a huge family day out on your lawn with Oma and Opa too. Haven't seen a bear since I lived in upstate New York many years ago. Too cool!!!
