    1/72 Airfix Fw 190.....From Catalonia

I'm going to make a start on this, kindly sent by Polux all the way from Catalonia.

I'll build it out of the box and in the scheme provided. Jagdgruppe 10 is an interesting enough subject and a unit formed with an impressive sounding name from an experimental unit in an act of desperation towards the end of the war.

There's not a lot to the kit.

But what's there is very nicely molded and detailed.

    Should be fun

    Cheers

Watch out for the fit problems that I found Steve - I'd recommend closing the fuselage & adding the cockpit tub from below.

Where did you have problems? I've dry fitted the cockpit and fuselage and it seems okay. Haven't checked the wings to fuselage yet.

      Cheers

Bear in mind that it is probably as much my ham-fisted building as any deficiency in Airfix's manufacturing!

I'm sure that you'll have no such problems!

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment I'm not so confident myself !

Thanks for the piccies though, I'll be giving those areas some special attention.

            Cheers

I did a dry fit of my one and it has no obvious gaps. Think your one may have been a bad mould unfortunately Patrick.

From one builds straight into another, I like your style! And it was a great gesture on Polux's part for providing the starting point.

I'll be popping by to see the progress

                    Cheers

Good start Steve, and excellent gesture Polux.

Now I just need to find an aileron to send to Polux

I've wondered if this kit was new tool or not and now I know thanks Steve

I've stuck most of this together. Luckily it fitted quite well, just a couple of cowling pieces needed a swipe of the sanding stick.

It's OOB except for a harness made from foil (the stuff that scalpel blades come in is perfect)

                            Cheers

                            Steve

Seems a very nice model Steve!

I'm glad to know all goes well and he fit ok

                              The harness looks spot on
