Oh, and as well, we'll be needing the obligatory 'rocket ship' pose, when you get around to it.
Right now the tube is just vertical but I will bend it somewhat to a more aggressive climb - not sure it will be the mach-1 vertical climb though

Painted Aluminium now, the tail is black so that remains as is.

Next steps, pretty much add the pylons etc, flat varnish, decals and final clear coat. And, as the last picture shows, some touch up.

Oh, and look up how to bend the brass rod without a kink.

I managed to carelessly knock this after I had put on the front tube - shouldn’t have put it on until the end I know, but managed to snap it in half.

Anyone got any tips for fixing a very thin piece that needs to be straight?

Good plan - pretty sure I have some - somewhere in one of the draws anyway. Thanks.

How about this ? I'm going to it on my current F6 build:

The set includes turned brass Pitot Tube.It is very simple to use in Your model, and makes it extremely realistic. Insert the metal parts using Cyanoacrylate adhesives.

Soooo many stencils…. so progress, but not completed all of the stencils. I have mainly the ones underneath left and then varnish and weathering.

I hate stencils. The decals themselves add a great deal but those itty-bitty stencils drive you mad and many wll never really be seen. At least you know they're there
                          Looking very nice.

Looking good Neil, once those stencils are on you can relax. I think the stencils ad something to the look of a clean airframe like this, so they are worth applying even if they are fiddly.

The pics were taken yesterday so the decals had not set, checking today, they have settled in nicely and it is looking better, definitely better for the stencils.

We have plans this weekend coming so likely not finished for a few weeks yet (I only get time on Sundays).

                              - Stencils
                              - Varnish
                              - Externals
                              - fix the pitot tube!
