Got a bit more done. The engine exhausts fitted and filled. In fact,This model is needing quite a lot of filler.Dont know if it's a bad fitting kit or my clumsy construction.Mind you,I'm also building a Tamiya Mustang that hasn't needed any filler.Ive made and painted a firing handle for the ejection seat head box out of copper wire.I think it's a bit small. But it's better than nothing at all. Will mask and fit the cockpit canopy tonight.ive also painted the camera bays, then masked and fitted the windows that cover them.
Looking good Dave, loving the filler. Got a sneaky suspicion my current build is gonna need a bit after a couple of dry fits.
What filler do you use?

Phil
I use a product that's been around for years called Squadron Green. There are a lot of newer products on the market but I like this one.I use Mr Surfacer 500 as well. But it's only any good on small gaps.
Haven't caught up on this one for ages. Really nice work. The pit looks awesome for such an old model. BTW, I use milliput and tamiya's stuff for filling. However, is the squadron stuff good for large areas, or will it melt the plastic like the tamiya stuff does?

It will, but they are easily avoided if you are careful in construction. With a bit of common sense and engineering, it shouldn't pose too many problems.

It's ok for large areas.Ive used Squadron green a lot over the years and only once had a problem with it melting the plastic. That was on a vacform kit at a point where the plastic was extremely thin.
