    1/72 ROKAF F-15K vs KPAF MiG-29 "R2B"

    The Adversary.

Another joint project featuring F-15K Slam Eagle and MiG-29 Fulcrum. This F-15K will be modded from Academy F-15E Strike Eagle (Item code: AM12478) since the K variant was a derivative of the F-15E.

The MiG-29 is from Tamiya, it's an Italeri tooling imported into Japan by Tamiya and reboxed for the Japanese market. It has recessed panel lines, adequate detail for the scale & a full missile load.

The plan is to replicate the dogfight scene between ROKAF F-15K 004 and KPAF MiG-29 in the R2B: Return to Base movie.

I'll use my own decals for this project - ROKAF logo, 02-004 tail code, 11th Fighter Wing (11전투비행단) emblem and Jaguar emblem, F-15K emblem, Rogue skeleton, KPAF logo & aircraft number 504. Yea it's the power of customized decals - do anything you wants.

    F-15K pilot & WSO, MiG-29 pilot.

Simultaneously making two aircrafts are quite exhausted but fun!

Replicating the dogfight scene of R2B movie.

Two kind of intake of F-15K.

Really big size although it's only 1/72 scaled down.

F-15K Slam Eagle. Glued those pylons and tailplanes.

    F-15K, the attachments will be:

    12 x Rockeye, 1 x AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN pod, 1 x Navigation pod, 3 x AIM-7 Sparrow, 4 x AIM-9 Sidewinder and 2 x Conformal fuel tank

F-15K, all the parts, ready to bath in soap water to wash away those dust, oil from my skin and residues left over from the moulding process.

MiG-29, the OVT Thrust Vectoring Nozzle, looks legit here.

However, details on the other side looks very perfunctory.

MiG-29, not much parts for this Tamiya reboxed Italeri kit.

      MiG-29 cockpit.

      That gap.

      Assembled most of the parts.

      This is tragedy.

Never ending sanding and putty night.

Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream.

      Sand like you mean it.

      Gunze #8 Silver.

      F-110 GE-129 exhaust, Gunze #61 Burnt Iron.

Done masking & ready for surfacer.

          Primed, with Mr.Finishing surfacer 1500.

Painted all CBU-87, AIM-9x Sidewinder and GE-129 exhaust.

Done painting, and it's make up time: decal application.

Almost done all decal application. ROKAF batch, 11th TFW batch, F-15K Slam Eagle Batch and tail code are printed and produce by me. I use Academy stock decals for those warning and no step.

Finally, my signature logo, for me it's a symbol of respect for the work.

Hello, Academy F-15E sucks in fitting especially the nose area, get Hasegawa please, they're better.
