Aotake is the Vallejo colour from their IJN set. You lay down a silver metaliser then spray the Aotake over the top.

The engine, I will be buttoning up the cowl so not much will be seen.

The prop, some of the anti-glare blue-black need to be painted on the reverse of the blades.

The I hit a problem unusual for a modern Tammy kit, fit issues. I remember getting the same with the first Zero build. I had a problem fitting the fuse to the wing getting a ridge between the two. I used wet black paint to try to see where the problem was but it was inconclusive. I ended up doing a lot of sanding, adzing, cutting and carving away, frequent test fits and more wet black paint.... here it is during the process...

White at it the knife slipped and ended up dislodging the pedals, I had a tricky operation to get them stuck back into place. Thick superglue gel was used and after a lot of fiddling around got it into place.

Not the best of pics, the angle was difficult specially getting it under the light. But as you can see it is in place, eventually.

Anyway - still not resolved the fit of the fuse to wing but it is nearly there. Hopefully it will be sorted tonight.
Well I got a satisfactory result last night getting the fuse and wing attached. Just a little Mr Dissolved Putty and it will be a perfect join...

This may be my last update for a little while as I am flying off to Zurich early Saturday.
I have fitted the engine panels, a perfect fit.

I have also painted some of the fittings, including the undercart ready to decal and finish weathering.

The windscreen and rear section of glass are masked and fitted. For some reason I have already primed them...a perfect faultless fit

The gun surrounds have just been pushed in place for now, perfect. They wont need any glue to hold them.
I will be doing a bit of a clean up to get rid of finger grease, sanding rubble etc, then some masking before applying a Stynylrez primer. I probably wont have time to get that done before I go away.
Well, after a week of excessive drinking and eating up the Rhine on this 1:1 model

I am back....
Last night I primed the 1/32 model using Stynylrez black primer as I use the 'black basing' method. It has revealed a few very minor flaws to deal with which should be done tonight ready to apply a base coat.
