All looking very nice. I really like the look of the F16, but still haven't built one. Maybe I'll treat myself at Cosford.

Bit more done , the intake section has been attached and the wheel well divider and rear bulkhead fitted . The rear bulkhead is one piece including the undercarriage legs but this has to be fitted at this stage because it goes behind the central divider - I'll just have to be careful not to snap them off from now on!The airframe has had a general clean up ,the few seams that are visible having a smear of filler but nothing too serious.Comment

Seat is in the cockpit and HUD fitted ( not the kit part but a bit of my trusty holographic confetti cut to shape) the canopy is now ready to go on once ive masked it and sprayed the frame black. Ive given the ring just behind the exhaust petals a misting of transparent blue as this area is quite prominent on the real thing, I’ll be adding a bit of highlighting to the petals later with eye shadow. The exhaust section has been fitted as well as the nose ( after a little weight added just to be on the safe side!) , and these joints are yet to be cleaned up. Its starting to resemble an f-16 now , next up is attaching the canopy and tail.Comment

Canopy masked and fitted and all the components of the airframe are on too. Its had a primer coat of Halfords grey aerosol and any areas that needed further attention have been sorted with vallejo acrylic putty . Its now had a further misting of primer and is ready for the first colour - model air light ghost grey .Comment

Got the paint on now , light ghost grey for the undersides and tail / cockpit area , dark gunship grey for the uppersides and i didnt have the model air colour for the nose cone so just went with RAF barley grey , it looks very much like the nose colour in photos . Next is a gloss coat and decals then its onto the last few bits . Cheers tonyComment

Just caught up with this Tony, it's looking very good. I do like the HUD! Jets are not my thing but having met you I thought I would check out your build.
There's nowhere near where I live or work where I am ever likely to find a kit to buy - never mind at a bargain price!
I'll have to start going to a few more model shows, it seems to be the way forward
Cheers

To misquote Jules: You are aware that there’s an invention called “the Internet” and on this invention, you can order stuff, right? :smiling3:
But I do miss the model shops, that's my point.Comment

Oh, same. The closest shops that carry any modelling stuff at all are over an hour’s travel away from me, and they’re all very limited — none of them is a true model shop.Comment

Right , back off me holidays so this has got a bit further now. Gloss coated and decals on , very nice decals as per Revell usual , the missiles however didnt have anything , so a root through the spare decals box and theyve been jazzed up with various stencils , stripes etc , this took me almost as long as decalling the aircraft ! It makes such a difference though . Cheers tonyComment

Its now had a final coat of semi matt to seal everything in . Ive de masked the exhaust and applied the 'No Step' decals -2 on each of the six upper exhaust petals and given it a bit of colouring with eye shadow , a blue tint for the ring behind the petals and a dark grey metallic for a bit of heat effect on the petals themselves. Ive also been tarting up the undercarriage a bit , adding brake lines to the main legs and a couple of hydraulic lines to the nose wheel leg. The nosewheel door has had the prominent landing lights added from nail art jewels and some plastic card and the main gear doors have had the strengthening rib and door retraction jacks added again from plastic card and brass rod.The nail art jewels came in handy again for the red and green position lights either side if the intake , the kit ones being lost during sanding of the intake but they were solid plastic lumps anyway .its nearly there now ,finished pics coming later , cheers tony
