    Hi Barry
Impressive stuff. Is the detail on the fuselage walls from the kit or are there some scratched or aftermarket additions? Whatever it is very neatly painted.

It is all kit detail Jim. I will bring out the detail further when I do washes and dry brushing.

All looking great Barry. I've only built two of these amazing Tamiya things. Watching your build has got me 'browsing' the web again !

That is correct and it can clearly be read on the model.

I have done some washes and dry brushing and the detail really pops. The wash I used was a brown one and that along with brown pigment helps give the impression of the wooden structure.

I use Uschi met powder, carefully and sparingly, on the metal areas to depict painted metal and chipping. The pigment and wash also helped create a feel of dust and dirt. Had to be careful not to overdo it.

I am pleased to report that despaired all that complexity the fuselage halves fit perfectly.

I have held the parts together with tape while placing drops of Mr S Cement between the masking tape to tack the sides together, in half an hour I will remove the tape and run more cement along the seam and then tomorrow I will treat the seams. You can see how few places I have had to use tape in so naturally do the parts fit.

It says “Beware of airscrews”. I first thought it might say something like, “Do not open in flight”

To me it looks like BEWARE OF PROPELLER'S

I cropped, straightened (more or less), enlarged and sharpened up Barry’s photo, and it definitely says “BEWARE OF AIRSCREWS”:

Getting along well with the main fuselage construction. The model will be ‘closed up’ except for the bomb bay. So I have fixed some panels in place. I have also treated the seams by running a bead of Mr Dissolved Putty along them and sanding. In some places I ‘wet sanded’ to preserve detail.

The tail components fit like a dream. No filler
                              anywhere needed.

I will start on the two beautiful Merlins next.

I should try to get a better shot of the internal detail now it is closed up.
