I'm not sure Jakko, not looked into the B variant much.

Maybe this has the answer (if you can stand the computer narration …):

It does: the fuselage is bulkier, so you can’t just convert an A to a B easily.

Fujimi and Hasegawa make F35b kits - I happened to be looking around for kits of them the other day

            Hi guys.

The last week or so I have mostly been masking.

After sorting out the wing seams and laying down the Have Glass Grey top coat I dug out the masking kit and got to work.

It may not look it but that's many hours work.

That's a lot of little bits of masking Bob. Not surprised it took a long time.

No wonder it took you some time Bob, that's a lot of masking.

                  Evening all.

Got the last of the masking done (vertical tail planes) the sprayed everything in Light Ghost Grey.

I'm itching to pull the masking up but will wait until tomorrow evening to make sure the paints cured enough.

                      Hi guys.

Got the masking off, didn't take as long as putting it on but still 2+ hours.

Overall I'm quite happy, there's a few bits that need tidying up, and some more parts that need painting in the RAM colour.

Well that was some complicated masking but the crisp result seems well worth it!

                            Cheers guys,

Some of the panels are a little overpainted at the edges, the masking set wasn't great and often the shapes were too small or short for the parts they were supposed to cover. I think by the time it's had a pin wash it shouldn't show.

                              Hi Bob
Coming on a treat. I do like the way you have done the stand. As for the masking - brilliant. The most complicated masking I've seen. No wonder it took so long but the results say - worth it :thumb2:

                                Cheers Jim.

In retrospect I wish I had glued a nut inside, or a metal plate with a tapped hole, as I'm not sure how durable the styrene threads will be.
