Lee,
in the 70's, if you wanted a model of an obscure aircraft, then vac-forms were really your only option, unless you fancied full scratch building! They took a lot of effort & time to produce a passable model ( only to have your ego crushed by someone saying " Nice Model! Airfix or Revell? " ).

Dave at the time I didn’t realize you had to have a donor kit with it and had to cut it out very accurately. I bet that stings when the would do that. Sorry Ian for off topic I’ll shut up now.

Ok I've got the tub painted and put together, still working on the seats going to make some seat belts. I've added a little colour but when completed your not going to see much anyway.

My knowledge of post WW2 British jets is sadly VERY lacking and so I don't think I'd heard of this aircraft.

It's a nice looking aircraft on the box art, hopefully it will turn into an equally good looking kit.

Nice start Ian , yes that's the beauty of British cockpits of the 50s /60s - any colour you want as long as its black!

Got a little bit more done to this. Got the intakes painted and fitted. Not that you can see much down there.

First flight 1951 In service from 1956 and retired 1968 so an old kite really. Not as fast as you would think either sub-sonic only

I believe in the Cold war days, those would have been called the coal hole. lol
