    Tamiya 1/72. bf109 e-3

Heres one Ive just finished , the sublime Tamiya bf109e-3 in 1/72 . I cant tell you how much I enjoyed doing this kit , its simple but plenty detailed enough for the scale and goes together superbly ( only thing I added was etched belts , aerial wire and canopy stay , speaking of which the canopy was cut so it could be posed open ) It can be picked up for between £10-£15 - either this e-3 or the e-4/7 boxing ( the only difference is the canopy ) so I wholeheartedly recommend getting one , even the decals were fine . I didn't bother with a build log as its one ive logged before so heres the pics - a machine from JG 54 from 1940 , featuring a very heavy extensive mottle . Cheers tony Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_5361.jpg Views:	0 Size:	256.6 KB ID:	1257863

That looks superb. Results like this show that the hobby can be enjoyed and wonderful models built without spending a fortune. Nothing wrong with spending a lot on a kit but people shouldn't be put off just because they don't have deep pockets. Well done Tony.

Thats very true Jim , recently Ive been getting tremendous satisfaction from 1/72 scale stuff , things like this ,the newer tool Airfix , Special Hobby and Eduard can all give fantastic bang per buck . Heres a few pics of the interior detail of this Tamiya kit , all just carefully painted , as mentioned only addition is the etched belts .

As Spanner says - 'that's beautiful' (I was told I'm 'Posh' earlier today!)

                That’s a cracker Tony 👍

Those 1/72 Tamiya WW2 kits really are great, I wish they would make more but seem to have given up on new releases 😔

                Geoff.

Top work Tony. Great stuff. I've built a couple of 1:72 Tamiya's (FW190 and Corsair) and echo your comments. They are great little kits.

Superb Tony. Lovely mottle job. It's a real pleasure when a kit goes together nicely.
