ICM 1/48 Spitfire IX ‘ beer delivery’ finished pics

Heres the ICM Spitfire IX ‘ beer delivery’ finished . A very nicely detailed kit but not one for beginners . It has the option of a full engine and all associated panels off , plus full cannon bay detail on both wings and open panels again . If thats your thing then it will make an impressive model although the construction is quite fragile and tricky . I opted to have everything closed and omitted the engine entirely , this makes its own problems , mainly fitting the nose sections together but it is doable with care . Finished in the markings of no 412 squadron RCAF , flying from RAF Tangmere. june 1944. Build log can be found here https://www.scalemodelling.co.uk/for...-beer-delivery
and heres a link to the story https://www.warhistoryonline.com/ins...s-of-wwii.html

A most excellent result Tony. I think you will have some interesting conversations with people who will wonder why a Spitfire has a couple of beer barrels strapped under the wings. Great job.

This pint has floaters! Large Bacardi and Coke, no ice or slice and 3/4 up the glass instead please!

Not the easiest of kits but you’ve nailed it.

                          Geoff.
