Joe's Revell 1/72 BAe Hawk T1 ETPS Raspberry Ripple

Got there in the end, only three months and nearly three weeks overdue.

XX342, Empire Test Pilots School. 1/72 Revell Hawk T1 kit, a re-box of Italeri's kit and not the easiest of builds. I could have spent days more doing bits and pieces but to be honest it was quickly becoming more of a chore than fun. I'm looking forward to trying Airfix's versions of the Hawk in 1/72 later on. Decals are from Xtradecal's early Hawk Schemes sheet. Plenty more decals left, luckily I have a few Hawks lying around.

Anyway, here it is, as seen in the 1980s in all its Raspberry Ripple splendour. Build thread here: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/thread...-2#post-323779

It may have been Late Joe but it's well worth the wait a cracking little build.

Great build Joe, thanks for taking part. It's interesting to compare the same scheme in different scales. I have loads of spare decals from my sheet too, maybe something for the future.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Thanks John. I like the Raspberry Ripple scheme too, but not keen on doing another one for a while

Thanks Rick. Also thanks for creating the build group. A Hawk fest later on maybe?

Whatever the problems in the build, this looks great, Joe. The paintwork is wonderfully precise - as it needs to be with these colours.

Thanks Doug. I won't be rushing into another Raspberry Ripple scheme for a while
