I was expecting a bit of a tussle with the Roden Junkers D.I - but it ended up being a nice build, the parts are well engineered, and the fit is very good - a lot of detail is hidden, but it's still there. The assembly is delicate, I broke the tail fin off several times. The only downside was the decals, they were very fragile & broke apart easily - a lot of careful positioning was needed to reassemble the jigsaw - they responded partly to decal solution - I did several applications, but they are what they are.
This was an ebay auction purchase <£18 - a good price, as the retail seems to be around £28-£32. I'm afraid I wouldn't have bought at that price, a little too much for a 1/48 plane, but, that's just my personal take.............
    Thanks for dropping by

That's nice Dave. Looks a bit like a biplane that's lost its upper wing!

Yep...nicely done Dave and ditto what Peter said about the missing wing. Just can't help feeling it needs one. :smiling4:

        Cheers,
        Richard

Nice job on the old ‘ iron donkey ‘ dave . i always fancied one of these for several reasons - 1. Its an unusual aircraft with the corrugated construction 2. They usually had funky colour schemes 3. Its my type of ww1 aircraft , ie. virtually no rigging ! Cheers tony

Wingnut Wings did one in 1/32 - with their demise, they will be collectors items & consequently priced waaay beyond modelmakers' pockets! I have two other corrugated wingy things in the stash

Excellent ! Both huge beasts , even in 1/144 The g38 always fascinated me , with that huge wing , thick enough for an engineer to walk inside and service the engines , in flight if necessary!!

and passenger seats in the wing leading edge! - those engines were diesels, incidentally!

                      Nice little bird Dave.
That Do X looks a beast even in that scale. One I would like to see you build
(And to think that someone makes a 1/72 AND a 1/48 scale of it!!!)

Looks great Dave, not what you'd expect of a WW1 plane. No surprise you struggled with the decals, Roden's are notoriously poor anyway and applying them over the corrugations probably didn't help. They look fine in the photos.

                          Dave

That's turned out very nicely despite the problems you've had with the decals.

                          Very well done.
