Just a quick question I know that the mustang had the wing tip lights but would it have had a red flashing one anywhere if so where would have been located?

Peter, wing tip coloured lights were standard, AKA navigation lights. There is also a white steady navigation/anti collision light on the tail rudder on the P-51 from memory. Flashing beacons/anti-collision lights such as the red flashing type to which you refer, didn't appear on aircraft until after the Second World War. As an aside, I believe they may have been a British invention that was adopted internationally!
The ID lights under the wing tip (red green and amber) to which Graham refers are identification lights.Comment
