Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 934

Hi all this will be my next build looks up to Tamiya normal standards but when I first assembled the engine block the fit was awful and I had to use clamps scarily tight to pull the engine halves together (luckily this area is hidden by the timing chain cases) also luckily the gearbox is a perfect fit so maybe the engine halves were warped for some reason and that will be the only problem I get. Which is also lucky as I intend to build the engine on a display stand to be put alongside the car (as if it's just been rebuilt ready to be put back in)The body moulding is awesome hardly any seams at all and the detail in the kit seems incredible

This is the same scale as the Bentley so is quite a large

Hi all more done to the engine (the rest seems to be going together in the usual tamiya fashion (in other words perfectly)

Hi Ken, That is really progressing nicely! I went nuts over this body style when Porsche introduced them in the mid 70's. They were selling for around 30,000.00 USD at the time.....Prior to this I was influenced by John Greenwood's racing Corvettes. I'm pretty sure he was connected to General Motors in some way as I found that Chevrolet were offering these wide fender flares in their performance catalog.
I was working in a body shop while going to college so I ordered a set and hung them on my '68 Corvette roadster.Click image for larger version

I dread to think what this car is worth now. We have dinkelaker bier rsr in at the moment and that's valued at 4 million this must be worth at least 3 times that.

It's actually quite insane when you think about it. Rick H

This kit is on my wish-list so keen to see how it goes. But I just can't justify the £100+ it costs. The 1:24 is more me.
1/12 is a mighty size. Never sure if that makes it harder or easier?

Ken there's some great detail on the engine, in some of the photos you could mistake it for real. Great build, I'll sit with Rick .

Looks like you have an oily engine build going on in the house! lol
(You inspired me by the way, but I got the Jaegermeister version in 1:24).
