    Custom 68 Volkswagen beetle

I’m not a professional model builder, but taking my time with this particular vehicle. I believe I was able to get the paint as close to perfect as I ever have. Here are three pics of what I’ve got going on.

Lovely paint job there Johnny, well done mate.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

Thank you. It’s the first one I’ve done this well. I am pretty proud of it too.

This was all done by rattle can. I roughed up the surface to forgo primer and started with Rustoleum Chrome, then I moved on to 4 coats of Dupli-Color anodized purple. Then 5 coats of clear, followed by all the proper sanding, polishing and waxing.

Beautiful finish, now do not spoil it by trying to improve it.
One tip, when you attach the photo, if you put your pointer on the top left corner you can re-size it, click on 'insert' and then 'full image'. Then some of the sight impaired of us can enjoy your work even more. I am not sight impaired, it's just the Gin blurs the vision....

That is some good advice. This is the second time I’ve had this particular paint job on this particular vehicle because the first time it looked really good and I thought I could improve it and all I did was screw it up. I had to get a new body and start all over again.

                            Johnny,
Very nice build and paint job, all done with rattle cans, i bet that called for some skillful masking. Excellent.

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words about my build, especially about the paint.

I’ve built 16 models so far and each one I seem to get a little better. So far this paint job takes the cake, but there are a few models. I built early on that I’m more proud of, even though this one has better paint.
