Looks amazing ron mate, I agree with you about the rubble on pre made buildings , ive often thought it looked a bit odd , yours is spot on. I`ve been looking in on this from the start but I haven`t commented as every one else has said what I was going to say, but I couldn`t hold back any longer.
The work you are doing on it is superb, the last close-ups you posted could be taken for pictures of the real thing.
This is some of the best work I`ve had the pleasure to see in this scale.

Very effective and, of course, you are right about moulded 'ruble' on moulded buildings such as Mini Art. You do tend to get a few blobs roughly brick shaped but as with any ruined building, the devil is in the detail and no matter how good the kit, you still have to rubble it up (?) and do the groundwork but having this masterclass online even I am running out of excuses for not doing it :abouttime:

I note your comments on 'ready made' buildings. In their defence, as we have seen on here, they do make up into fantastic damaged buildings, it's just that without loads of rubble, they look kind'a unfinished. I realise that there are obvious constraints where production is concerned, but I'm sure the manufacturers could include a small bag of rubble and bits, or indeed make your own. It would make all the difference to the finished piece.
O.K., a small update for you.....
Last night I sat back and had a 'Boddington's moment' I was looking at the damaged building. I knew something didn't look right. Viewing it as a whole it occured to me I was cheating......Take a look at the previous pickies of this building, the damage and fire are confined to one half, so I reasoned the other half would be relatively untouched, so why are the windows and shutters missing? I was being lazy, simple as!
So I have added a window, cut from one piece of thin plastic card and shirt stiffener for glass. I've omitted one pane for fun! Then I dampened the clear plastic and sprinkled a tiny bit of dry grey powder onto it to give a dusty effect to the glass. The shutters are made in the same way as shown previously. Saves making more windows!!
I've also made a pile of logs out of bits of small twigs from the garden, stuck to a piece of card and then glued to the base.
That's it for now...I hear we can expect 10 degrees tomorrow, so I'm off to root out my Bermuda shorts!!!!!

Hello all,
I've been quietly adding fresh ideas and finishing bits off to try and make the place look a bit more lived in and 'Used' so to speak....
I've finished the fencing and added a diddy gate. The lavoir now has a fence too, to prevent the ladies falling in the stream whilst carrying the laundry!
I had some plastic card left over from the strip of slabs along the lock , so I've cut these into individual slabs and are now propped up against the wall for sale as a job lot.....
I've also made a second stack of timber of a thinner size than the first.
The lock gates now have walk boards to get to the other side of the lock.
I have added a little bench in the corner by the memorial so the old geezers can have a smoke and a natter! Plus a bit of fence to finish the corner off.
All the woodwork is Dave's (gern) coffee stirrers cut into various sizes.
That's it for now and any comments or suggestions are always most welcome......Just had a look at the gate, it looks B****y awful, so all say "Goodby gate."!!!!!

I agree on the gate Ron. May i suggest that you put a style in there and a post with a footpath sign on it right next to it mate. Should be a quick and easy efective mod. Otherwise, awesome work mate.
