Think the Sturmboot is basically finished, there's a boat hook, personal weapons and gear included. Work continues on the other figures and I'm about to venture into creating crappy, oily. claggy dock water - please wish me luck - here's 'Das Boot' so, 'All aboard the Skylark ... !'

Very nice work on the boat Steve. Really looks the part 👍. Oily water is going to be a real challenge, so hope it works for you. Might be worth looking back at some of Ron Spanner’s stuff….he’s a bit of a watermeister on the quiet….

I'm currently undertaking trials on 'oily water' - painting the base in a loosely mixed nondescript grey/green/brown/black mix then applying thin layers of resin, allowing to cure before applying random thin swirls of clear blue, green and yellows before repeating the process. I've tried tinting the layers with browns and greens and currently Tamiya 'Smoke' seems to be looking good. A friend has directed me to a tutorial on the same subject but I haven't viewed it yet. I'm using the inserts from Ferrero Rocher - along with the boxes and, of course. the sweets they're just a gift that keeps on giving!

Well, almost finished,; I've decided on the final layout (as shown) and need some titivation on the figures and details whilst the base needs finishing. The oily water was more problematic and I've decides to leave it as it stands. Because its going to sit in the cube of the Ikea unit I've lashed up a background to try and put in some perspective, unfortunately the design of the dock kit doesn't allow for the imposition of forced perspective. So here it is - C&Cs welcome as always!
