so is the lamp black,a not so real harsh black as black,but but more in the blue/black


range of colors,

Yes I think the lamp black does tend to go a bit towards the blue side.


Whereas ivory black tends to go more towards the grey side.

OK Folk's here we go.
All done with oil's.


The first thing I did was to give a wash of Burnt Umber over all the wooden parts I then put dots of Yellow Ochre and Mars Orange on to this(pics 1and 2).All of this was then wiped off with a sponge to leave a stain.(you can see the stain on the right side of pic 3)


The next thing I did was to put burnt umber over the wooden parts and again added dots of yellow ochre and mars orange(pic 3).This again was wiped off,but leaving more of the oil on the model.


I then added dots of yellow ochre,mars orange and titanium white,these were then wiped with an hogs hair brush following the grain of the wood.(pic 4 and 5 show what it looks like after wiping).


The next thing I did was to add shading with lamp black around all the raised areas and edges.this was then blended.(pic 6,7 and 8).

Some work done on the wheels


pic 1 burnt umber added and wiped off.pic 2 highlights added with yellow ochre and titanium white.


plus some dots of indian red, wiped.

I just noticed these wheels and the detail is outstanding, I looked closely and noted that like in the original the wheels are made of sections which has been very well depicted ( the circular sections in talking. With your excellent painting and weathering these look so good
