Mick sorry I missed you, yes by far cheaper and more to the point to scale. I just cut out the base section from those packs you can pick up.

Well the dementia has kicked in again as I could have sworn I commented on the finished build. My sincere apologies mate.

This is in my top three favourite builds of yours. You have managed to capture a moment in time so well. Its a real art to get an action shot like that. Wonderful work mate. You must be really pleased. I hope it is on the mantle piece for all to see.

Very nicely done John and good thinking to go for the woman driver, I hear the Russians did have a few.

I've been away and just caught up with this.
            John this is simply wonderful!
Just my idea of how models can catch a moment in time , as somebody has said already.I had no idea this was the plan but the concept and story telling is brilliant.
Definitely my favourite of yours since I've been on here.
            top marks Mr Race!!

              Evening John,
How on earth I missed this I do not know:thinking:!! I thought you where still putting it together!
Oh well..... I’ve had a good look and I’m bloody impressed

The supports for the roof where a stroke of genius and the tank busted through like that look superb. The broken glass on the windows, the debris, the corrugated roof:smiling4:........ Your building work just gets better and better mate.....very, very nice:thumb2:

Thanks to you all for the kind comments.
This was an enjoyable dio, limited to base size does make you compress every thing in, but it worked well.
The breaking through that wall was made better by having the 2 sheets of 5 mm foam board glued together and leaving the card on both inner faces, this gave the impression of the wall flying out.
                    John .

You may remember this build from earlier this month.
My technical adviser, one known to you all as Simon T, or in some circles mainly the Plymouth ( Steve Rivet Jones) area as the the master from the Dark Side
has kindly drawn out for me a backing sheet of a factory.

Simon sent me this as as three separate PDF files so I could print them out and use accordingly

They have been printed out and mounted onto some stiffer photo paper. This morning I cut and trimmed and glued them to the back of the dio.

Unfortunately when you photograph it it doesn't show it well, but anyone looking can see it clearly.

                      Thanks Simon.

                      John.

                        Hi John
Very kind of Simon although he has always been one of the very good guys. An effective way to display a dio.
