I'm drooling at the thought of it!

Thank you guys, I have finally got time to photograph the finished dio after a hectic three weeks since the event. They're on the completed section here. Kindly pop over.

Hi Guys, ever since making the fruit that the monkeys were throwing at the convoy, many people had asked me what they were and I told them it was a fictitious fruit but now I can safely say what it is. After a stroll walking Sebastian I chanced upon this...
...they're wild passion fruit and what a coincidence that the leaves look the same too. And then walking further down the neighborhood I found the motherload of moss in the right scale growing on two trees...
What a great discovery.

Thanks Steve, this took a while to build having gone through some composition changes and figuring out how to sculpt the monkeys. The biggest challenges for me was doing clear water and casting the rifles for the first time. There are more pictures in the completed dio section from all angles if you're interested.

Richard, sorry to be so late to this party... I remember the first few mosts about the rifles and then I just lost track.
This is one of the best dioramas I have seen here or elsewhere and you must be very proud of your efforts...
You managed to ressurect a very old project, evolve the story, make a convincing stretch of jungle (and I know how hard that can be) and THEN you come up with those figures and monkeys.
It has everything - drama, humour, real history. I love it! Now I must seek out the final shots so that I can marvel some more.
On to the next!Comment

Hi Tim, for me parties are never over and thanks for the very lovely comment. Glad you like the Dio...I kept giggling every time I glued on the monkeys and figures.
There are some last minute additions to the Dio in the completed section...looks out for the King Fisher.
