If the cool pix has a macro setting (usually identified by a flower icon) try that Paul.  It will increase depth of field and allow you to get in a bit closer.  Portrait  mode (head icon) is usually trying to set the camera up for a shallow depth of field to blur the background behind the subject.  It’s not really for close ups.

Thank you, I will. Yes, both early rubbery ones (some modified poses) & the later plastic ones.
ALERT. Somewhen ROCO used a different plastic (darker than original) for its' figs. It is unforgiving, dosen't drill well & breaks easily. The old rubbery ones are easy to work with. The later hard plastic ones are fine also.Comment
